Modern Armor Clear Bra Paint Protection VS Custom Cut on Car

Are you looking to protect you new vehicles finish from being eaten away (along with the resale value) by sand and road debris? Thinking that paint protection film, aka a clear bra is the way to go? You are on the right track! Thinking that they are 'all the same'? No not at all. Think picking the lowest price is the way to go? No, that could be a very costly mistake. Thinking custom is better than a well designed and installed 'kit', think again. While it is possible to get a quality hand cut custom clear bra, it is very easy to wind up with significant paint damage too. If you go that route make sure your installer has a very long track record of not damaging the paint in the application process.

GTO Repaint

Modern Armor utilizes 'kits' designed by industry leading designers. All applications are pre-cut to each specific vehicle by computer controlled production equipment prior to application. This insures that you are getting the best possible fit for all paint protection applications and that there is no potentially damaging cutting the pattern out on your paint.

Both Aston Martin's below were photographed locally here in Dallas at a very prestigious dealership. (Modern Armor did not work on either vehicles). Both have had at least two clear bra packages installed. On both the first 'custom' bulk clear bra installations left deep cuts in the vehicles paint. The first one has deep cuts in the fenders and a cut all the way across the hood! The second one has cuts in the fenders. On both vehicles the paint was not repaired prior to the second install. The first went over the cuts with larger hood and fender pieces, and the second actually used smaller pieces.

On both vehicles the second install looks to be a kit, but the kits were not installed properly. The first one had large sections of the bumper misaligned and hanging off the paint, and thus full of dirt and debris.  The second one left very large gaps, and didn't install the bumper correctly, leaving a very large gap in the middle of the lower radiator opening.

Take a look at these photos and judge for yourself. This poor workmanship completely defeats the purpose of using paint protection / clear bra to protect your vehicles finish along with its resale value!

Shopping purely price is a recipe for disaster.

Extremely poorly aligned pieces. (Hood on the right, fender on the left). The gap should be a lot tighter.

Extremely poorly aligned pieces. In this shot of the lower radiator opening the pieces were designed to be butted up together, not over and inch apart.
